The residents of West Virginia sighted a creature–Mothman, they claimed it was 7 ft tall with large red eyes and a 10-ft wingspan, while driving on West Virginia Route 62. Earlier, gravediggers working in Clendenin also reported seeing a half man, half moth creature. The following year the bridge connecting Point Pleasant, Ohio, collapsed killing 46 people. People believed that the Mothman may have been there to warn the citizens. This unsolved mystery is celebrated as an annual festival in September as the ‘Mothman Festival’. A statue has been erected in the middle of the town right outside the Mothman Museum.
