Mount Ararat is a dormant volcano located in the eastern extremities of Turkey. Mount Ararat consists of two major volcanic cones–Greater Ararat that is at an elevation of 5,137 metres and Little Ararat at an elevation of 3,896 metres. This snow-capped mountain is not only the highest peak in Turkey, but also the principal national symbol of Armenia.
