Mr Forgetful never knew why he kept forgetting his glasses. His cousin Miss All-knowing, like her name never forgot anything. One day, as usual Mr Forgetful lost his glasses. “Why can’t I remember where I have kept them?” said Mr Forgetful. Miss All-knowing gave him a stern look and said, “Not again!” Just then, Mr Someone, their neighbour entered the house. “Mr Someone, nice to see you, come and sit with us,” said Mr Forgetful and told him all about his missing glasses. “Hmmm…I think I saw something on his head. “Sofa!” screamed Miss All-knowing. “Would you mind standing up, Mr Someone?” Mr Someone stood up and there were Mr Forgetful’s glasses! Alas! They were broken. Miss All-knowing had a bright idea. “Next time you want to remember something,” said she, “just tie a knot in your handkerchief.” The plan was almost successful but there was one little problem. Mr Forgetful kept losing his handkerchief.
