Mr Muddle’s Transport

Mr Muddle had a van that was used by everyone in the village for sending supplies from one place to another. The van carried chairs, tables, linen, crockery and even food-items across the village for birthdays, anniversaries, school functions and weddings. He was always called and then he arranged to send the van.
But people always called his wife. “She is more sensible and doesn’t get things confused. If you want things muddled, call Mr Muddle!” said everyone in the village.
This time, however, there was a problem. Mrs Muddle’s sister had fallen ill, so she had gone away to look after her. Meanwhile, Mr Muddle had to be called if there was any work for the van. After all, it was known as Mr Muddle’s Transport!
Gina, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Grey Manor, was getting married. The wedding was to be in the garden of the Grey Manor. All the arrangements were being made outdoors for the wedding—the guests, the food to be served, the band for dancing.

Mr Muddle had been given all the instructions but someone had to keep reminding him. He took the van with the chairs to the White Manor. There was no wedding and Mr and Mrs White Manor wondered who had ordered the chairs! Mr Muddle had forgotten that it was to the Grey Manor he was to go, not to the White Manor. He turned the van and soon reached the Grey Manor. Mr Grey’s butler answered the door.
“Sir, Mr Muddle is here with the chairs,” he announced. “Today?” asked Mr Grey, astonished, “The chairs were to be brought tomorrow. The wedding is the day after, Mr Muddle!”
So once again, Mr Muddle drove back with the chairs.
“Ah! So there’s wedding!” he thought, “Then there must be a wedding cake! I should take that.”
Off he went next morning to Mr Hench, the baker, and picked up a beautiful wedding cake from him. He forgot to tell him it was for the wedding at Grey’s.
He went to the Grey Manor the next day carrying the cake. “Cake? Today? Where are the chairs, Mr Muddle?” asked Mr Grey.

“I brought them yesterday, didn’t I?” said Mr Muddle.
Mr Grey decided that he had to do something before he went crazy dealing with Mr Muddle. He sent his Secretary, Elena, with Mr Muddle! Elena made sure the wedding went off without a hitch!
