MY FAVOURITE STORY

I like the story about the hare and the tortoise. It teaches us not to be boastful and proud. Here is the story—One day a hare was boasting to a tortoise about how fast he could run. The tortoise said to the hare that he was happy to go slowly. The hare and the tortoise decided to have a race. The hare set off very fast. Then he decided to have rest. He lay down and fell asleep. The tortoise started very slowly. He did not stop to rest. He kept going at a steady pace. He reached the finishing post first. The story proves that it is better to go slowly and steadily than to rush madly.

Vocabulary
Boasting–talking tall, Steady pace–going continuously, Finishing post–finishing line
