Nasturtium is an annual and perennial herbaceous flowering plant. This variety includes climbing, dwarf, and bushy types. The stems and leafstalks are pale green in colour, hairless and somewhat fleshy. The green or slightly bluishgreen leaves are borne on stalks. These leaves are rounded in shape with entire, undulate, or slightly lobed margins. The leaves are hairless and have several prominent veins that radiate outwards from the centre of the leaf blade. All parts of this plant are edible. Nasturtiums have been used in herbal medicine for their antiseptic and expectorant qualities.
