National War Memorial

The National War Memorial was built in Ottawa, Canada, in 1939. The Memorial is a tall granite arch topped with bronze sculptures. The arch was built to commemorate the Canadians who fought and lost their lives in World War-I, World War-II, Korean War, Second Boer War and War in Afghanistan. The total height of the monument with the bronze statue is 21.34 metres.

Amazing Fact: In 2000, the Tomb of the Unknown soldiers was added to the front, where there are also bronze statues of 22 Canadian servicemen and women.
