Only 15 mm in length, this cockroach is smaller than other species. Its habitat consists of damp dark areas, preferably leaf litter and loose tree barks. Omnivorous by nature, they eat organic materials including dead wood. One of the species in this family survives through harsh cold climates by letting the water within its body to freeze.
