The Nazca Lines (Geoglyphs) are an enigma that span the Peruvian desert. There is no clue as to its function. There have been fantastic explanations-from ancient gods, a landing strip for returning aliens, a celestial calendar and even as a map of underground water supplies. The Nazca Lines are located in the Nazca Desert. Etched in the surface of the desert sand about 300 hundred figures made of straight lines, geometric shapes are clearly visible from the air. Various designs consisting of the figures of animals, flowers and plants, objects, and anthropomorphic figures of colossal proportions are made with well-defined lines.
