Never Be Greedy

There was a pasture at the edge of a forest.

Shepherds of the nearby villages came there with their cattle flocks.

While the cattle grazed, the shepherds spent there time playing.

There was a big old tree in the pasture. It had a big hollow but with a narrow opening.

The shepherds put their lunch packs in that hollow as they reached there.

And at noon they took them out and enjoyed their mid-day meals together.

One day a hungry fox happened to come that way.

Suddenly, it got the smell of the food and followed it to reach the hollow.

Its belly was flattened due to hunger. So, it got into the hollow with ease.

The hungry fox ate up all the food kept there. Now its belly was swollen.

It tried to come out of the hollow but was unable to do so because of swollen belly.

Soon the shepherds came there for their lunch. They found the fox there and thrashed it badly.

Moral : Excess of everything is bad.

It is wise to be alert

One day a jackal was roaming around in thick forest in search of food.

Suddenly, it saw a wild boar who was rubbing his tusks against the trunk of a tree.

The jackal looked around carefully but it couldn’t see any danger for the boar anywhere.

After a lot of thinking the jackal was unable to understand why the boar do like this.

So the jackal asked curiously, “Why are you sharping your tusks, friend?”

“To face the hunters,” boar replied calmly.

“There is no hunter in sight, then danger from what?” The jackal asked surprisingly.

“The forest is always full of dangers.” Wild boar showed his intelligence.

“I assure you dear friend, there is no danger near you,” jackal said in a confident manner.

“You are absolutely right my friend,” replied the boar, “But will it be wise to dig a well when a fire has broken out?”

Boar further said, “Who knows when I’ll have to face any enemy. Then I may not get time to sharpen my tusks.”

Moral : Always be careful for coming dangers..
