Last night was New Year’s Eve. My parents had a party. They invited several friends. I heard the bell ringing just after midnight. This was to show that a new year had begun. On New Year’s Day my mother always has a lunch party for the whole family. A lot of members of the family live near us. Many of them come to our house to celebrate the New Year. My mother cooks some of the food in advance and puts it in the freezer. The food is always delicious. New Year’s Day is the time when we can talk together and make plans for the next year.
