• Scientific name : Solanumdulcamara
• Family : Solanaceae
• Native land : Europe and Asia
Bitter nightshade is a perennial climbing or trailing vine. It reproduces by seeds and rooting at the nodes of the prostrate stems. The plant has two leaf forms that, along with its blue‑violet flowers and bright red berries, can be useful to distinguish bitter nightshade from the other nightshade species. Young stems and leaves are generally hairy. The flowers appear in branched, drooping clusters that attach to the main stem opposite the leaves. The fruits are oval, thin-skinned, juicy, bright red berries. The leaves are considered moderately poisonous if ingested.
