No Gold Below the Waist

No-Gold-Below-the-Waist

Customs involving gold and silver ornaments are very popular among the Hindu customs.

Do you know: A woman wearing a toe ring on the second toe has a healthy Ayurvedic effect on the body.

According to the Hindu customs, a married woman must wear a toe ring on her second toe after marriage. This custom has huge medicinal properties. However, women wear silver toe rings, and not rings made of gold. This is because gold is a metal associated with goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of Wealth; and hence wearing gold below the waist is considered the same as disrespecting the goddess.
