No Pains, No Gains

Life is not a bed of roses and it is a series of struggle for survival and success. In this life, there are no gains without pains. Life indeed would be dull if there were no difficulties. Games lose their zest if there is no real struggle, if the result is a foregone conclusion. Both the winner and the loser enjoys a game most when it is closely contested till the end. No victory is a real triumph, unless the foe is worthy of winning it. Whether we like it or not, life is one continuous competitive examination. Says a poet:
We are not here to play, a dream, and to drift;
We have hard work to do and loads to lift;
Shun not the struggle; it’s God’s gift.
Lastly, it can be said that failure or pain builds up our character, so take it sportingly.
Vocabulary
