You will need:
- Food colour
- Cornstarch
- Container
- 1 cup of water

INSTRUCTIONS
- Take 1 cup of water and pour it into a container.
- To that add 1.5 cups of cornstarch. Begin mixing this well.
- To thicken the consistency, add another half cup of cornstarch to the mixture.
- Keep mixing this for at least 10 minutes. Add a bit of food colour to give the mixture a funky colour.
RESULT
Oobleck is a type of slime, specifically a dilatant. When you soak your hand into this mixture, and try to pull it out, you will find it very hard to remove it without pulling the slime and container with it towards you. What’s more when you try to squeeze a dilatant? It will feel solid because of the starch particles which do not move away easily. It will take the shape of the container. But if you try to remove it, it will lose shape. These types of dilatants are non-Newtonian fluids.
