Pansy and the Pot of Honey

Pansy was a monkey. She was naughty. But she was as sweet
as honey.

One day, Pansy was playing with her friends. Hop! Jump! Hop! She was excited.

She kept thinking of all the fun she would have. ‘I will win all the games,’ she thought.

Dancing and singing, she marched on. Suddenly, on her way, she saw something.

She saw a pot full of honey. Slurp! Slurp! went her tongue.

‘What a good luck! I will not share it with anyone,’ thought Pansy.

So, she hid the pot. She planned to take the pot home after playing.

Suddenly, she saw a baby bear coming towards her.

The baby bear was crying and searching for something.

“What are you searching for?” asked Pansy. The baby bear replied,

“I am looking for a pot of honey.”

He continued, “My mother had asked me to stay with the pot. But I went after a bee.”

He exclaimed, “And now, due to my mistake, the pot is missing!”

The baby bear started crying loudly. In the meantime, the mother bear came along.

She saw her baby bear crying.

She saw Pansy and asked her, “Do you know why my baby is crying?”

Pansy told the mother bear the reason.

The baby bear cried, “I am sorry, Mother!” Pansy all the while felt guilty and miserable.

How could she eat the honey now? It was her fault that the baby bear was crying.

She could not bear to see the baby bear cry. She ran and brought

the pot of honey and gave it to the baby bear.

Then she explained everything to the mother bear and the baby bear.

The mother bear was very happy with Pansy’s honesty.

She told her baby to share the honey with Pansy.

Pansy was glad that she had given the pot. Now everyone was

happy and she too had got her share of honey.

Wasn’t that nice of Pansy?
