Interesting fact : On account of its appearance, the passionvine hopper is often mistaken for a moth and appears to walk like a ‘ballerina’.

With brown partly transparent wings that are 7 mm in length, the passionvine hopper hops off plants with a loud ‘snap’. Their diet consists of plant sap, leaving behind honeydew like secretion. They are known to cause honey poisoning. The nymphs of this insect are wingless, and are popularly known as ‘fluffy bums’.
