Phoebe was the best student in her class. She studied well. All the teachers loved her. Her parents showered her with gifts. But this made her haughty. She never shared her things with anyone. Whenever her friends would ask her for a pencil or a crayon, she would say, “I won’t share. It’s mine. Why didn’t you bring yours?” Her friends felt sad, but they would keep quiet. Her parents would try to make her understand that her joy would be doubled if she shared her things, but in vain. One day, Phoebe forgot her lunch and her pencil case at home. When she tried to borrow one from her friends, they said, “You never share. Why should we?” Phoebe realised her mistake. During lunch break, she sat brooding in a corner. But her friends did not let her go hungry. They shared their lunch with her. Phoebe was thankful. Thereafter, she shared everything with her friends.
