It ranges between 90-115 mm in length, excluding its tail, weighs less than a pound and has a 5-10 year’s life span. Similarly, this is the only species of an armadillo that has its shell almost completely separate from its body. These armadillos are known to eat worms, snails and other insects. They have very visible long, white, silky hair sticking out from under their shells.
