The Earth is a big ball-shaped moving body, mostly made up of rocks. It is the only planet in the solar system which has life. Life on the Earth became possible because of the availability of oxygen, the moderate temperature, the availability of water and the favourable atmosphere. It is the fifth largest planet of the solar system and is the third planet from the Sun. When the Earth is viewed from space, it looks like a mixture of blue, white, green and brown colours. The reason behind this is the presence of water, land and plants. The Earth is surrounded by a layer of gases.
The Earth moves in space at the rate of 106,217 km per hour and it weighs about 6.5 sextillion tons.
