Once, a group of mice lived in the hole of a house. They were very happy with their life but the owner of the house became angry with the mice, so he brought a cat in the house to catch the rats. Soon the cat was preying on them. Fed up with the cat, the mice organized a meeting for bringing forth the ideas to get rid of the cat. One young mouse spoke, “If we know that the cat is somewhere around us, we can escape from it easily. But it moves around very silently.
Hence, I advise to tie a bell around the neck of the cat. As soon as the cat enters a place, the bell will ring and all the mice can run away.” The suggestion of the mouse was very much applauded by everyone except an older mouse. He said, “Fine, but who will bell the cat?” All the mice looked at one another. Nobody came forward. Then the old mouse said, “It is easy to propose impossible remedies.”
