Simon was a naughty boy. He hated sermons and didn’t like to pray. He often laughed during the priest’s sermon. ‘Prayer is a waste of time!’ Simon would think. “I should be playing right now. I don’t want to listen to silly sermons,” he often complained to the grandmother. One day, Simon’s grandmother fell ill. Simon became very worried for his grandmother. He did not know what to do. Then he was reminded of the priest. So, he went to the priest and asked him for help. The priest reassured Simon. He said, “Simon, prayer has the power to heal. If you pray from the heart for your grandmother, she may recover soon.” Simon, worried about his grandmother, began to pray at once. He was now at peace with himself. To his relief, his grandmother also started recovering. Simon never laughed at the power of prayer again.
