Little Prince Lionel was a lazy boy. He never did his own work; in fact, he just ordered people around. His mother, Queen Ruby, wanted Lionel to learn the value of work. She wanted him to grow up into a king who respected his subjects and did not treat them as servants. One day, Queen Ruby saw a column of ants marching in a line on a wall. She called Lionel and showed him the ants. “Look, Lionel, there was a huge bite of food. The king ant can’t work alone to carry it home; rather, he needs all these ants to carry small morsels. But if the king doesn’t work, the others also won’t. Lionel, if you will be lazy and won’t work, soon, people will also not work and be lazy.” Prince Lionel understood what his mother meant. He started doing his own work and grew up to be a wise boy.
