Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was the son of Pt. Moti Lal Nehru., a famous lawyer. Pt. Nehru was a great Indian leader. He was born in Allahabad on November 14, 1889. He had his early education at home. He went to England for higher studies. Then he returned to India. Here he came under the influence of Mahatma Gandhi. Pt. Nehru took part in Indian independence movement. He spent most of his time in Indian jails. He was a great freedom fighter. He became the first Prime Minister of free India. Children called him “Chacha Nehru”.
