Pursue Your Dreams

Walt Disney’s childhood hobby was sketching cartoons. So, he started his own company at the age of 19, drawing cartoons of the creatures from his childhood. However, Walt Disney faced many challenges. He had no money to pay the rent, so he lived with his friends. Many days, he had nothing to eat. Even though he failed to sell a single cartoon, he kept on trying. Disney was once fired by a newspaper editor, who said, “You lack imagination and have no good ideas.” After that, Disney started many businesses that did not last too long and ended in failure. He kept moving ahead and eventually found success. One day, a minister at a church hired him to draw some cartoons. Disney was working in a shed near the church. There, he saw a small mouse and a bright idea clicked in his mind. That was the start of Mickey Mouse. Today, Disney’s company earns billions from merchandise, movies and theme parks around the world.
