Meeta’s neighbour was an old man who lived all by himself. The children in the neighbourhood did not like him. “He always shouts at us for no reason,” they said. One day, Meeta was playing near the staircase when she heard strange noises coming from the man’s house. She hesitated, but when the noises grew louder she rushed towards the old man’s house. Luckily, the door was open. She ran towards the sound, but then stopped short. The old man was lying on the ground with a livewire next to him. He was shaking violently as if in the midst of a shock! Meeta immediately ran to the main electricity board, switched it off and threw a blanket over the old man. Then she ran out, calling for help. When the man recovered, he visited Meeta with a beautiful doll and thanked her. They became good friends, thanks to Meeta’s bravery and intelligence.
