After leaving outside the city, the angels asked the family to run for their lives and also instructed them not to look back at all. Also, they asked them to reach a height where no one could destroy them at all. He was asked to be away from the plain surface, as it could endanger their life. Lot said, “Sirs! it might not be possible to reach great heights. However, I can find a shelter at the village here.” Jehovah replied that he could do so as he had a wish that the village where Lot had referred to would not be destroyed at all. The next day, rain of fire poured down the villages of Sodom and Gomorrah, and killed everyone there. However, Lot’s wife disrespected what God had told her to do. She turned back while walking down to the village, and she was turned into a pillar of salt. The next day, when Abraham saw the city, he could see the smoke rising high and high up in the sky from the burnt cities.
