Ram’s Battle with Hanuman

Hanuman had promised Yayati that he would protect him. At the same time, he did not want to fight against Ram. So, he pleaded with Ram, “Lord, I have to keep the promise given by my mother. If you wish to kill Yayati, then you will have to kill me first!” Saying so, Hanuman increased his size enormously and stood in front of Ram. Ram was unhappy to see Hanuman’s act. “Are you threatening me with your power?” he asked. Hanuman was calm. He replied, “Not at all, my master. I am blessed by you. These powers are because of those blessings.” Ram started showering arrows at Hanuman, but Hanuman stood undeterred. Hanuman did not use any weapon, but he stood like a mountain and chanted Ram’s name continuously. The arrows were piercing Hanuman’s bare chest, but they disappeared after hitting his chest. Hanuman’s devotion and determination touched Ram. He was overwhelmed to see such dedication.
