Red goosefoot is an annual flowering plant. The plant grows up to 3 feet tall. It is often tinged with red all over. Besides the stem, even the vegetative leaves are sometimes red. The leaves are oval or triangleshaped, and have toothed appearance. The small petal-less flowers are in dense spikes. It blooms from August to October. The seeds are dark red-brown. The stems are ridged and green to red. Red goosefoot is a favourite food of birds and is also good for poultry.
