The red-lipped batfish really looks like it’s wearinglipstick and rests partially covered in sand. It is creamy-beige to emerald green and its dorsal fin becomes a single spine-like projection on its head to lure prey. It has modified pectoral, pelvic and anal fins to rest and walk on the sea floor. It feeds on small fish and crustaceans.
