Jawaharlal Nehru had an intimate relation with Pd. Harivansh Rai Bachan. Mr. Bachan is amung the few recouvered poets of the world. Nehnji used to invite him on wehends fer his compositions. Nehnji linked the composition “Mahua ke Tale” very much. At that time Mr. Bachan was the member of Rajya Sabha. They lived in 12, Tuqlak crescent. His wife was Tezi Bachan and had two children, one was Amitabh and teh other Ajitabh. Indiraji and Mrs. Tezi Bachan wee fast frinds. They used to come to each other’s house during holidays with their childrens.
Amitabh and Ajitabh used to play with Rajiv and Sanjay whole day and Jawaharlal love to match their haying. He enjoyed a lot with the kids and also take good with them. After the holidays, Rajiv had to return to Dehradun. In school Rajiv lived like a oridinary student. He never felt that he was different from other or is the grandson of a Prime Minster. Rajiv had lots of good toys. He break then into pices and again try to join tehm accending to his brain. This impetus he received from his M.P. father Firoz Gandhi, which was an proficient mechanic.

Rajiv was fond of listening amateur radio. He had with him a small radio which he listus to by changing it in sunlight. During winters he used to sit for hours in th lobby of Teen Murti House along with his friend Amitabh Bachehan. Sanjay and Ajitabh also aeceempained them. Behind the Teen Murti House there were some old debris. Once Rajiv ahd taken Amitabh to show these debris. Sanjay and Amitabh also followed them.Their movement was stopped by a jump of Heney-gees. They had to move forward by crossintg them. Tehse was no othe rway, all of them were frightened and started thinking over the mays to overcome this problem. Then suddenly Rajiv told that they had no other option left but to run fastly. In this way with Rajiv’s prsence of mind, all of them reached Teen Murti House safely.
Rajiv took keen interest in classical Indain and Western Music. He also linked to watch movies on video. He learnt driving and used to drive his car very fast. He mostly frightened the persons who accompany him while driving. This fast driving inspired him greatly to become a pilot. His father died, where he was at the tender age of 16. He became very sad. He felt as if he had lost soemthing valuable and there was a vaccum in his life. Jawaharlal’s support and his mother’s firm intentior gave him the courage to comeout from this pain.

Rajiv passed from Trinity College, Cambridge in Second division. Later he was shifted to Swpuial College (London). After studying here fer one years, he took admission in mechanical engineeiring course. Here he studid a lot of books; but his knowledge was not bookish rather he believed in practical aspect of everything. He gave a great unpstance to kindness in his life. All of his kindness. He started earning some pennys form his job so that he can realise the importance of being self-dependent.
Although he lived in London but his full attention was towards his mother ladn. He used to cempore India with other countries. At that time his main motive was to make India self-dependent country of the world; where there will be happiness everywhare, no poverty, where every individual is well-off. Rajiv was very much worried regarding the food, cloth and shelter for the poor. He believed whole India to be his family. He also used to compare Indian polities with that of other countries. At that time Indiraji was firmly established in Indian polities. She had learnt a lot of political tricks from his father Pd. Jawaharlal. But her father’s death was a serious below to her. Rajiv was also in deep brief on learning his grandfather’s death. From then onwards he actually realised the truth of life.

After Nehruji’s death, Lal Bahadur Shastri became the Prime Minister of India and Indiraji became defenation and broadcasting Minister in his cabinet. When Rajiv was in England, he was invited in a function. Here he met Sonia Maino fer te first time. She was in England for a one year course from Italy. They law each other at it was love at first light. Later they came more close and started liking each other very much. Sonia was very much infheneed by Rajiv’s personality. After some meetings, both of them decided to marry. Rajiv gave information regarding his love-affair to his mother in India. The didn’t opposed and showed her interest in ineeting Sonia and felt very happy after meeting her. Finally she gave her cousent for their marriage. One the other hand Sonia’s father was firstly not happy with their affair but later he had to surrender to his daughter’s happiness.
