Hatim warned the merchant that the magician could play some trick on him that might even endanger his life. The merchant thanked him for his kind advice and promised to be safe. Talking and contemplating on various options, they reached the merchant’s house at around midnight. The servants were much pleased to see their master. They told him about the secret chambers where the magician slept. When the merchant saw the magician sleeping peacefully, he remembered all that he had gone through. He took out his sword and stabbed the magician to death. Hatim had handed the merchant the nail that he had removed from the magician’s head. The merchant went to his wife’s chamber, and in her sleep, struck it on her head and kept her in the house as his pet dog. In this manner, the merchant got back his property from his wife and the magician, and also took his revenge.
