Ryan was a very strong warrior. He left the king’s army to take care of his old blind mother. Ryan was devoted to his mother. She, too, loved her son a lot. The king wanted Ryan to join back his army. One day, the king sent some of his soldiers to bring Ryan back to the castle, forcefully. Ryan could have fought them, but he was worried that his mother might get hurt. So, he went with them willingly. At the king’s castle, many delicacies were offered to Ryan. But Ryan refused, “Not without my mother,” he declared, “My blind old mother is alone, with no one to take care of her.” He said either he should be freed or they should provide shelter to his mother in the castle. Finally, the king brought Ryan’s mother there. She cried on meeting her son. Seeing their love, the king realised how selfish he had been! He freed them both and they went back home happily.
