It is a very distinctive looking herbivorous antelope, with a large, proboscis-like nose which hangs down over its mouth. In summer, the saiga antelope has a thin cinnamon-buff coat compared to its winter coat which is almost entirely white and almost twice as long and thick as its summer coat.
