Saint Basil’s Cathedral

The St. Basil’s Cathedral was constructed between 1551 and 1561 AD in the Red Square in Moscow, Russia.
The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, is a church, with 9 churches constructed around the original, which is known as the Trinity Church. Now converted into a museum, St. Basil’s Cathedral has a unique design with colourful onion-shaped domes, and is unlike any Russian architecture of that period, and is shaped like a flame of a bonfire rising skywards.

Amazing Fact: The Cathedral was going to be demolished during Stalin’s rule, as it was getting in the way of his plans for a Mass Parade on the Red Square.
