Salty Juice

Once, a man opened a juice bar. He had a helper who was very hard-working. One day, the owner went out leaving his helper in charge. The helper wondered, ‘Why do people ask for salt to be served with their juice? Instead, if we add salt to the juice before serving, it would taste good and the business would make higher profits.’ So, he added a lot of salt to the huge pot of juice. However, to his surprise, the customers spat out the salty juice and went to a different bar. Too much salt had made the juice bitter. When the owner returned, he saw an empty bar and all the juice ruined. When he told this story to a monk, the monk said, “Even if the ignorant want to do good, they end up doing harm. You should never trust them completely.”

Moral: Ignorance can spoil the best of intentions.
