Sandy’s family was new to the city. One day, Sandy’s neighbour, Cathy, invited her to her little sister’s birthday party. They had a lot of fun and played games all evening. That evening, Sandy was very quiet. Mummy patted her and asked, “What happened, darling? Why are you so quiet?” “Mummy, I want a little sister so that I have someone to play with,” said Sandy. Mummy thought for a while and said, “Well, let me see what I can do.” Next morning, she took Sandy to a huge white building. “Where are we, Mummy?” she asked. “This is an orphanage. Many children live her. They don’t have any brothers and sisters and want someone to play with them too.” Sandy saw some little boys and girls and played with them. Mummy gave Sandy some chocolates to give to her new friends. Soon, it was time to go home. “Thanks Mummy, I had a lovely time. Can I come here again?” “Of course,” smiled Mummy, “You can come here every Sunday and get some of your toys to share with your new friends.” Sandy was very happy.
