Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was a great freedom fighter and a valiant leader of India. He was born on 31 October 1875 in Khera district of Gujarat. Little Vallabh was very sensitive against injustice done to anyone.
During those days, the whole nation had become united under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. Sardar Patel was very close to him.
For his successful leadership in Khera Peasants’ Satyagraha Mahatma Gandhi gave him the title of ‘Sardar’.
Sardar Patel had rough and tough looks, but was internally very soft and kind-hearted person. His speeches left a deep impact amongst the people and created numerous patriots. He was sent to jail many times by the British. When India became an independent country, Sardar Patel played a major role for her unification.
Sardar Patel was a fearless person. He died on 15 December 1950. This brave leader of our country lived a valiant life.
