Now on TV, magazines, the advertisement of shampoo is very common but when we talk about its invention and use by people the very first time you will really be amazed to know that it had been in use since 1762. The term shampoo evolved from word ‘champoo’. Firstly, massaging treatment was started by a Sake Dean Mahomed in London. He also invented the process of giving steam bath to hair. He became famous to the extent that he used to be called ‘shampoo surgeon’ and appointed especially as so for William IV and George IV. Such invention was very popular but it was not the shampoo which we use today.
Shampoo, as present in today’s market, was invented by Kasey Herbert by mixing soap and several herbs to form lather for washing hair. It was the 20th century from where shampoo is used by us for cleaning our hair so gently.
