Lallan and his friend called Sheikh and thought of involving him in their latest mischievous plan. They told Sheikh that Rano Mausi was alone at home and she had kept a lot of eggs in her kitchen. They said, “Let us go to her house and steal the eggs.” Sheikh agreed. They planned that Sheikh would go into the house and Lallan and his friend would guard the gate. When Sheikh entered the kitchen, Rano Mausi was sleeping. Sheikh saw ingredients to make kheer (rice pudding) near the stove. He was very hungry, so he started preparing kheer. As the kheer was getting cooked, Rano Mausi started moving her hand in sleep. Sheikh thought that Rano Mausi wanted to taste the kheer. So, he poured a few drops of hot kheer into her hand. Rano Mausi woke up suddenly and started shouting, “You scoundrel, what are you doing in my kitchen?” Sheikh happily replied, “I am just making delicious kheer for myself. The real scoundrels are standing outside your house. Go and catch them!”
