Logan, the rooster, was holding singing classes for the chicken on the farm. The ducks had joined in and the goats provided the chorus. The trouble was that the classes were held in the stable every evening. Bella, the cow, had stopped giving milk. Juniper and Beech, the horses, were too tired to work the next morning, and the donkey and the sheep found the noise unbearable! Mrs Kinley, the farmer’s wife, was terribly worried. “Even the hens are not laying eggs!” she told her husband. “Perhaps the foxes are frightening them at night,” suggested Farmer Kinley. That night, they sat up near the stable to watch. Suddenly, they heard the ruckus as Logan began his classes! Mrs Kinley marched into the stable and grabbed Logan. “One more squawk out of you, and I’ll make you into a soup! You silly rooster!” she declared. And that was the end of the singing lessons!
