When Sisera saw his men losing the war, he escaped the battlefield, unnoticed. He knew he can always return back to defeat the people of Israel. On his way back home to Hazor, he came to rest at the tent of Jael, who was the wife of the tribe member. He was the friend of the King Jabin. She warmly welcomed him inside her home and offered him fresh goat’s milk to drink. Sisera was too tired, with his clothes torn. She asked to rest and said, “I will keep a watch to see if anyone comes looking for you.” After this assurance, he went off to sleep peacefully. Once she saw him sound asleep, she took out the hammer and killed him. She said, “I am no friend of King Jubin.” She saw Barack and called him inside her home and said that she had the man whom they were looking for.
