Snæfellsjökull is a 7,00,000-year-old stratovolcano with a glacier covering its summit situated on the most western part of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. A 90-km-long Peninsula, Snæfellsjökull comprises friendly towns and villages, spectacular mountains, a plethora of bird species nesting on treacherous cliffs, beaches of sand and pebbles, saga sites and hiking trails. The Snæfellsjökull National Park includes the mystical glacier Snæfellsjökull, as well as other unique sites such as Djupalonssandur, Thufubjarg.
