Some useful tips for health and vitality

To remain disease free and in good health is an art of living. Many a times we seem to invite disease by own flawed habits of eating, drinking and socialising. Indeed if you have a strong will power and decide to take bull by the horns, diseases will never ever come near you. This is how it’ll come about.

  • While going to bed at night fill a copper utensil with clean drinking water. Take about 4 glasses of this water immediately upon getting up in the morning. Do this regularly. You will remain safe from constipation and your blood would be clean and health giving.
  • Go for walking, and for taking light exercise upon getting up early in the morning. After your lunch and dinner too, go for a brief stroll.
  • Do Matasyasana, Naukasana, Pawanmuktasana and Urdhvasarwangasana and Shirshasana to remain in good health.
  • For avoiding cancerous condition use more of veggies and cereals rich in vitamin A and C. Citrus fruits and green vegetables should be taken in sufficient amounts.
  • Tulsi (Basil) the popular herb, has blood cleansing effect. It has immense therapeautic value in bronchitis, sore throat, hiccups, pneumonia, indigestion, piles, diarrhoea, pruritis, skin discoloration, jaundice, pimples and blood diseases etc.
  • Myrobalan (Amla) and lemon are good in high blood pressure. Extract of one fresh myrobalan mixed in a spoonful of honey is excellent for health.
  • Seeds of muskmelon the popular summer fruit, has the ability to thin down the blood flowing through the vascular system. Hence considered medicine for raised blood pressure.
  • Tea, coffee and cigarettes shouldn’t be used in excess.
  • Once in a week make a poultice of a cup of curd, extract from one lemon, Besan (gram flour), and a pinch of turmeric. Apply this on whole of your body, and take bath with lukewarm water. By so doing you will remain safe from skin diseases.

For beauty and blitz

  • A bit of lemon juice and salt added to a bucket of water gives you a bath that revitalise you body skin.
  • Mix glycerine and lemon juice, and keep it in a bottle. Every morning apply it after face wash. It’ll soften your skin and give it a fair complexion.
  • Before you go to bed, wash your face, hands and legs with cold water.
  • At times do cross check from a close confident whether your breath is fine or foul smelling. If you had bad breath take appropriate curative measures.
  • Change your toothbrush every three months.
  • Don’t use excess of common salt. It is bad for your health.
  • Get you hair conditioned from time to time.
  • If feeling sore in legs, put your feet in a cold water tub or wash from thighs to toe.
  • Keep a bottle of plain drinking water on you table, and drink it at regular intervals.
  • Sleep in loose fitting cotton cloths.
  • Too hot or too cold food or drink is injurious to your teeth.
  • Brush clean your teeth before going to bed. Brushing is especially important after eating sweetmeats or sugar based cuisines.
  • Do a bit of exercise after getting up in morning, at least for 10 minutes, if not more.
  • Use less of fatty and oily foods. These are harmful for heart and also lead to obesity.
  • Don’t pursue taste to an extent that nutritive elements of a cuisine are lost to cooking exercise.
  • Eating of fibrous vegies and fruits is good for bowels as well as for gorgeous looks.
  • Do eat citrus fruits as well, so that you get vitamin C in apt amounts. Vitamin C in essential for a healty and shinning skin.
  • If you plan to stay out of home for long, don’t oil your hair. Greasy hair gather more of dust and dirt from environment.
  • Choose your shampoo according to your hair-type. It’s not advisable to change shampoo freuqently.
  • Mix up with different streams of people. That will unfold your personality and broaden your mental horizon.
  • Put on good quality goggles. It will save your eyes from light glare, sun, dust and smoke.
  • When your eyes are heavy and sore, shut them close for 5-7 minutes with hollow of your palms, and relax whole of your body from head to toe.
  • Never read reclining on back while travelling in a bus or train. This can demit your eyesight.
  • Nothing like seeing a good film to elevate your sagging spirits. Listen to music, and take part in recreational activities.
  • Take it easy. Don’t tax your mind unnecessarily. Tensions derails health and weakness memory power.
  • Use foundation on lips before rubbing in lipstick. This will keep your lips protected and cosmetic colour will stay for long.
  • Apply a little of desi ghee on navel while taking your bath. It’ll keep whole lot of your body fresh and shining.
  • Check out whether yogasanas and exercises you do are really working for you. Do you feel light and fresh and sprightly after workout? If yes—it’s okay.
  • Going out for walk early in the morning makes lungs strong by providing them fresh air and thereby making blood pure and rich in oxygen.
  • Don’t put needle, prick or ear bud in your ear canal. It can be dangerous. The smegma you intend to remove from ear is not harmful. On the contrary it acts as filter for dirt, dust, bacteria, fungus, stopping them from causing damage to internal ear. Cleaning of outer pinna with soap is enough. The canal on secretions deep inside keep drying from time to time come out of their own.
  • Don’t take to heart mundane losses and pitfalls. Worrying about every minor thing and remaining tense saps body’s innate ability to resist diseases, making you chronic patient of many ailments.
  • The way out of mental tension is to remain joyous, cool and satisfied under all circumstances. Fight odds without agitation or excitement. Don’t lose sight of your targets, and think positive.
  • If possible oil massage you body once in a week. Massage bestirs and balances circulation of blood in body. Besides this, it tones up internal organs and soothens nerves.
  • If there is no available space for walking or jogging, do spot exercise at home. Even yogasanas are apt in such scenario.
