Street beggars

Begging is quite common in India. Street beggars are found in every city and town. The places of pilgrimage are the most common centres of begging. A large number of beggars are found outside the temples. They are also seen on the banks of rivers, on bridges and staircase of railway stations. They roam from street to street, from one locality to another and beg for alms in the name of God. The deserving beggars are those who are physically handicapped. But young and healthy men are frequently seen begging. Such beggars do not deserve any sympathy. In India, street begging has become a nuisance. Begging should be banned by law.
