Submarine

The sketches of the submarine were designed by the famous Leonardo da Vinci and the actual plans were made by William Bourne, but the Dutchman Cornelius Drebbel, under the service of James I of England constructed the first submarine in the year 1620. It was built as per the designs and specifications laid down by William Bourne who was a famous English mathematician. Two improved versions of the submarine built back then were tested on River Thames during 1620 and 1624. David Bushnell created the first submarine for the purpose of military wars in the year 1776 in the US. Later, 2 rival inventors developed the first ever true submarines in the late 1890s in the US itself. In the year 2002, Mark Edwards successfully built a two-person version of a submarine based on Bourne’s design for the popular TV programme Building the Impossible on BBC Network. This two-person submarine was tested successfully in Dorney Lake, Eton.
