Swedagon Pagoda

The Swedagon Pagoda, officially known as the Swedagon Zedi Daw, was built in the 6th century in Yangon, Myanmar. The Swedagon Pagoda, which is popularly known as the Golden Pagoda, is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. 99 metres in height, this pagoda is said to be more than 2,600 years ago, which makes it the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world.

Amazing Fact: The Swedagon Pagoda is tipped with 5,448 diamonds and 2,317 rubies and the very top is tipped with a 76-carat diamond.
