The Temples at Abu Simbel are two enormous rock temples built in Nubia, Southern Egypt in 1264 BC. The Temples at Abu Simbel contain the Great Temple of Ramesses-II and Small Temple of Nefertari. The most beautiful temples in Egypt, their entrance has four 20 metres high statues of Ramesses-II along with the statues of his wife, Nefertari and children. The inside contains hypostyle halls supported by pillars.
Amazing Fact: In 1968, the temples were relocated to an artificial hill to prevent them from being submerged when the artificial lake Nasser was created.
