Once, a son took his father to a restaurant. As the father was very old and weak, while eating, he dropped food on his shirt. The other diners became uncomfortable seeing this but his son remained calm. He was not embarrassed at all. After finishing the dinner, the son took his father to the washroom. He cleaned his father’s shirt. Then he combed his father’s hair and fitted his spectacles firmly. When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence. The son paid the bill and started walking out with his father. At that moment, an old man amongst the diners asked the son, “Don’t you think you have left something behind?” The son replied, “No. I do not think so.” The old man said, “Yes, you have! You have left a lesson for every son and hope for every father.” There was a hush in the restaurant.
Moral: Respect elders.
