The Angel of Death and the King

Once there was a powerful autocratic King of the Banu Israil. One day, a man of horrible looks entered his kingdom to meet him without notice and the King got furious.

The stranger then informed him it was the Lord of the House with whose permission he was there and that no man on the face of this earth could escape from his grasp. The King asked him if he was the Angel of Death and he asserted.

The King pleaded him to grant him one day’s respite for prayers and the handover of his kingdom to the right owner. But the Death Angel was not convinced as the King’s days of life were over.

The King then asked who would transport him to his tomb. To this, the Angel replied it would mainly depend upon your deeds, good or evil, which would be decided upon by the Almighty.

And since the King had no good deeds registered in his life chart, he incurred the wrath of the Lord. Soon thereafter, the King fell dead off his throne and his soul was taken by the Angel. There arose loud cries and wailing among the people of his court.
